Booking, regulator by regulator
Each route below is the one stated on a regulator or provider page, or, for DHA's Sheryan steps, the one reported by DHA-derived sources. Screens change, so treat these as the shape of the process and follow the portal's wording.
DHA (Dubai), Prometric
- Create a Sheryan account with your name exactly as on your passport.
- Copy your DHA Unique ID from the account.
- Generate your Eligibility ID and pay the credentialing fee.
- Schedule and pay for the exam on the Prometric DHA portal by credit card.
- Read the result in Sheryan as Pass or Fail.
DOH (Abu Dhabi), Pearson VUE
- Wait for approval. The application must be approved by DOH Health Professionals Licensing.
- Open the application in TAMM (the reference starts HPREG or HPACT) and choose Pay.
- Use the Pearson VUE link that appears, then choose a date and centre.
- Print your confirmation. DOH lists exam@doh.gov.ae and support@doh.gov.ae for questions, and OnVUE home testing is offered for some of its exams.
MOHAP (northern emirates), Prometric
- Confirm eligibility in the Unified PQR.
- Apply online in the Evaluation System, upload documents and pay AED 500.
- Wait for the officer's decision on whether an exam is required. MOHAP states a service completion time of 5 working days for the evaluation.
- Book the Prometric exam if required. Primary source verification follows.
Qatar DHP, Prometric
- Meet DHP's requirements and check whether an exempting certificate applies.
- Register and schedule through the online booking page on the DHP exam page, which leads to Prometric ProScheduler.
- Sit the exam: 150 MCQs. Remote proctoring is stated for some DHP titles but not for the GP exam.
NHRA (Bahrain), Prometric
- Apply to NHRA (licensure@nhra.bh is the contact listed).
- Receive an eligibility number, valid for up to 4 months.
- Register with Prometric and book within that validity window.
OMSB (Oman)
- Confirm eligibility with OMSB and the booking provider for your exam, because the public sources disagree on whether it is Pearson VUE or Prometric.
- Book and pay. If it is Pearson VUE, you should receive an email confirmation within 48 hours.
- Arrive 30 minutes early. The Pearson VUE page asks candidates to do so.
SCFHS (Saudi Arabia), Prometric
- Submit your e-application to SCFHS.
- Receive a scheduling permit with an eligibility period.
- Book a Prometric slot in a testing window, up to 3 months ahead. There are 11 testing windows a year.
- Bring your permit and an unexpired passport to the centre.

Cancelling and rescheduling
Rules differ and some are expensive.
- SCFHS at Prometric. Cancelling 16 to 30 days before the exam costs a USD 50 fee. Cancelling 15 days or less before forfeits the exam fee.
- OMSB at Pearson VUE. Cancelling at least 48 hours before gives a full refund to the original card in 10 to 14 business days. Rescheduling at least 48 hours before is free. With less notice you may forfeit the fee. Every new booking is paid again.
- DOH. The fee paid in TAMM is non-refundable.
- DHA, DHP, NHRA, MOHAP. We found no cancellation terms on the pages we checked. Read your Prometric confirmation before paying.
Who pays: employer, sponsor or you
Many candidates have an offer before they book. Whether the employer pays the exam fee, the credentialing or evaluation fee and the verification fee is a matter between you and the employer, and the regulators do not say. Ask three questions in writing before you pay anything yourself. Which fees will you reimburse? Is reimbursement conditional on a pass, or on staying a minimum period? Who holds the account in the regulator's portal, you or the facility? A portal account opened by a recruiter in the wrong name or on the wrong passport details can cost weeks to correct.
Budgeting without false precision
A planning budget has four lines: the regulator's application or credentialing fee, the exam fee per attempt, verification, and travel or accommodation if your test centre is not local. Only some amounts are published, so budget with ranges and mark the unknowns. For DHA the arithmetic is simple: USD 280 per attempt means USD 560 if you sit twice and USD 840 at the three-attempt ceiling, before the credentialing fee and verification. For MOHAP, AED 500 is paid at application, and the exam is only taken if the officer requires it.
The cheapest attempt is the one you pass. That argues for booking the exam only when your mock scores are stable, not when the first slot opens. See the scoring guide for how to judge that.
A booking checklist that prevents the avoidable problems
Most booking problems are identity and timing problems, not exam problems.
- Name and ID. Use the name exactly as it appears on your passport in every portal. SCFHS asks for an unexpired passport at the centre together with the scheduling permit. Check expiry dates well before the exam, because a passport that expires between booking and sitting can stop you entering.
- Eligibility window. NHRA's eligibility number lasts up to 4 months and the SCFHS permit carries an eligibility period. Book inside the window, with a spare month for illness or a centre closure.
- Centre and time zone. Confirm the centre address and the local start time on the confirmation. For Pearson VUE, arrive 30 minutes before the appointment.
- Payment method. DHA payment to Prometric is by credit card. Check that the card works for international online payments before the day you want to book.
- Cancellation terms. Read them on the confirmation. The SCFHS and OMSB terms above are stated; others should be read from the provider's page.
- Exemption check first. If an exemption could apply, resolve it before paying for an exam you do not need.
A backward plan from the exam date
Work backwards from the date you want to sit. Four to six weeks before: complete your last full-length mock and settle the booking details. Two weeks before: stop new topics and revise error logs only. The week before: two light blocks and no new sources. The day before: confirm the route, ID and arrival time. After the exam: log what you remember about the format, not the questions, because copying recalled items is not acceptable and does not help the next candidate honestly. Your timeline for verification, payments and the exam should be one document, so a delay in one shows up against the others.
Dates and slots
The sources we checked do not publish a national calendar for DHA, DOH, MOHAP, DHP or NHRA sittings. Once you are approved, you select a date and centre in the provider's scheduler. SCFHS is different: the SMLE is offered in 11 testing windows a year, with one attempt per window and a permit that limits your eligibility period. NHRA's eligibility number lasts up to 4 months, so the booking window is bounded there too. Slot availability depends on your centre and the season, and no regulator guarantees a date.
How to verify a fee yourself
- Go to the portal, not a page about it. Sheryan, TAMM, the MOHAP Evaluation System, the Prometric or Pearson VUE scheduler, Mumaris Plus.
- Read the payment screen. The amount shown before you confirm is the one that binds you.
- Note the date. Write the date and the amount in your plan. Fees change by circular.
- Ask in writing if an amount is missing. The contact addresses above are the regulator's own.

Frequently asked questions
How much is the DHA general practitioner exam?
The DHA CBT guideline lists USD 280 per attempt, paid to Prometric by credit card. A credentialing fee is paid separately in Sheryan and is reported by DHA-derived sources at AED 200. Confirm both in the portal.
What does MOHAP charge doctors?
AED 500 for the physician evaluation application, per the MOHAP service page. It is an application fee, not an exam fee, and the evaluation officer decides whether you need an exam.
How much is the DOH exam?
DOH does not publish the amount on the pages we checked. You pay in TAMM before the Pearson VUE link appears, and DOH states that the fee is non-refundable.
Do Qatar DHP, NHRA and SCFHS publish an exam fee?
Not on the pages we checked. The SCFHS fee is shown at payment in its portal. Treat any figure quoted elsewhere as unconfirmed until you see it in the portal.
Can I cancel and get a refund?
It depends. OMSB candidates booked through Pearson VUE get a full refund if they cancel at least 48 hours before. SCFHS at Prometric charges USD 50 for cancelling 16 to 30 days before and forfeits the fee within 15 days. DOH fees are non-refundable.
How far ahead can I book?
SCFHS lets you book up to 3 months ahead within a testing window. NHRA's eligibility number is valid for up to 4 months. Other regulators do not state a booking horizon on the pages we checked.
Is there a fixed exam calendar?
Not for DHA, DOH, MOHAP, DHP or NHRA on the pages we checked. The SMLE runs in 11 testing windows a year.
Does the DataFlow fee come on top?
Yes, verification is separate from the exam and has its own fee. DataFlow's pages do not state amounts, and the OMSB FAQ says fees vary with the number of documents.
